Lesson 2    Word Processing

2.1 The Tool Bar






To start Microsoft Word, click on the Word icon on your desktop.  The program will opens with a blank document window. 

2.2    The Top Ten Toolbar Buttons

        1.  The New button creates a new blank page.

        2.  The Save button saves the document.

        3.  The Print button prints the current document.

        4.  The Spell Check button checks for spelling errors throughout the 

        document.

        5.  The Cut, Copy, and Paste buttons allows selected text to be cut,

        copied, and pasted to another location.

        6.  The Undo button undoes the last action taken.

        7.  The Font Drop-down List Box and Font Size box changes     

        the font and size of the text quickly.

        8.  The Bold, Italicizes, and Underline buttons changes selected text.

        9.  The Font Color button changes the color of the text and has a drop down 

        menu of color choices.

        10.  The Word Art button enables the user to create decorative text for the 

        document.

Activity 3:  Moving Text, Word Art, and Text Color
